Injury
from cold weather (Hypothermia): An 80-year-old woman was
found lying down in her backyard. Her rectal temperature was 80
degree Fahrenheit. The electrocardiogram shows an abnormal looking
rhythm called idioventricular at a rate of less than 45
beats per minute. Ther ECG shows changes that are typical of hypothermia
and these changes appear somewhat similar to the ECG of a person
who has had a heart attack.. (L.S.)
